Resource Innovations Wins ACEEE’s Leader of the Pack Award for Excellence in Low-Income Residential Weatherization

Chicago, IL, October 30, 2024 – Resource Innovations is proud to be recognized with the prestigious Leader of the Pack award by ACEEE (American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy) in the residential weatherization low-income programs category. This award acknowledges the impact of the Homes Energy Savings (HES) Program, which has been instrumental in providing energy efficiency upgrades to income-eligible households across northern Illinois.

The HES Program, launched in 2022 and jointly administered by ComEd, Nicor Gas, Peoples Gas, and North Shore Gas, has made significant strides in enhancing energy efficiency in single-family homes.

In 2023, the program achieved impressive results, including:

• 10.6 GWh of electricity savings
• 1.5 million therms of gas savings
• 33.7 million pounds of CO2 emission reductions

With a commitment to supporting hard-to-reach communities, the HES Program has served:

• Over 6,500 households with free energy-saving products
• Nearly 2,500 households with comprehensive retrofits
• Nearly 400 customers through a partnership with Illinois’ Home Weatherization Assistance Program (IHWAP)
